This shows the door leading into the boiler room, the raised concrete structure that featured the old coal chute, and the second floor fire escape on the west side of the chimney.  During the construction of the new building in 1928-29 this fire escape was removed and the internal stairway was constructed which connected the old building to the new.


Hard to believe that with all of its many features, this grand old building was constructed in 12 months.
