Franklin “Bus” Palm

Franklin "Bus" St. Clair Palm was born on June 26, 1919 in Farragut, Iowa, the son of Franklin C. and Marguerite F. (McMahon) Palm. Bus entered into eternal rest on Saturday, May 23, 2009 in Shenandoah, Iowa.
Bus was born and raised on the family farm, just outside of Farragut. He attended school and graduated from Farragut High School with the Class of 1936. He continued his education at Northwest Missouri State in Maryville, Missouri. On August 19, 1942 Bus was united in marriage to Ruth M. Boyd, the couple was later blessed with two sons.
Bus farmed the family homestead until his retirement. He was a member of the Shenandoah Elks Club, Farragut Masonic Lodge and the Farragut United Methodist Church. He also enjoyed buying and selling antiques, playing cards, socializing, and tending to his garden.
He was preceded in death by his parents, son F.C. Palm and two sisters Mary Clemons and Juanita Howard.
Those left to cherish his memory include his beloved wife of 66 years Ruth of Shenandoah; son Steve Palm and wife Linda of Council Bluffs; four grandchildren Michelle Borman and husband Brad of Cincinnati, OH, Colin Palm and wife Tammi of Bellevue, NE, F. Stephen Palm and Joel Palm both of Atlanta, GA; seven great-grandchildren; Emily and Carter Butterbaugh, Baxter and Savannah Borman all of Cincinnati, OH, Alexander and Charlotte Palm of Bellevue, NE and Falcon Palm of Atlanta, GA; sister Glee Morrow of Atlantic, IA; a niece, nephews, other relatives and friends.
